A flip phone, a transparent raincoat, a crowded laundry room: Ramón Núñez makes ordinary situations feel like scenes from a much larger story.

The Art of RamonN90: Life in Every Sketch is his debut art book with 3dtotal. The 152-page hardcover combines galleries with character-making tutorials and reflections on the creative life. Rather than claiming to review a copy we have not read, we looked at the publisher’s preview material and the artist’s own public practice notes.

What the artwork actually shows

In the publisher’s character montage, a woman absorbed in her flip phone shares space with blue rainwear, an oversized umbrella and a child holding a stop sign. Each figure has a clear gesture and a readable silhouette. The clothing is elaborate, but the small actions make the characters approachable.

The barbershop image plays a different game: a relaxed customer anchors a composition of long, angular forms and improbably tall hair. The contrast between the ordinary activity and the exaggerated shapes is where much of its humour lives. These observations are our reading of the promotional artwork, not statements attributed to the artist.

Everyday scenes, deliberate staging

The laundry-room preview uses a low viewpoint, overlapping bodies and strong diagonals to bring us into the scene. Faces and hands do much of the storytelling. For a student of digital painting, this is worth examining before looking for brush settings: the image already has energy in its arrangement of shapes.

Beyond a gallery of finished work

The publisher says the book also explores creative block, self-validation and the search for an artistic voice. Those topics matter because improving a painting practice is not only a technical problem.

In his own ArtStation practice post, Ramón encourages regular work and honest assessment instead of waiting for perfection. That gives useful context for the book and for his practice-focused projects: finished images are part of a longer process, not evidence that the process was effortless.
